  • Will I need alterations?
We like to order the dress as close to your current size as possible, but all bridal gowns need alterations to give it a perfect fit for your wedding day, plus you'll want a bustle. We do not do these in-house, but we recommend three wonderful alterations specialists: Aleida's Sewing, Embroidery, and Alterations / (912) 667-1341 (Rincon, GA) Susan Golembiski / (610) 406-8388 https://susangolembiski.com/pages/about-susan Sue Cochran / (912) 921-1533 (Coffee Bluff, Savannah) Carolyn Beasly / (912) 826-7281 Charolette Blaire / The Sewing Shop (606) 471-8004 Charolette travels to you in the Savannah, Pooler and Bluffton area! You should budget $300-800 for alterations, although it could be more or less depending on your dress.
  • Do you have parking?
Camellia is in a charming Savannah neighborhood, with plenty of free street parking available.
  • How long is my appointment?
We reserve an hour and a half of time for you to have your own individual appointment. While at Camellia you and your group will work one on one with a bridal stylist so we can focus all our attention on helping you.
  • Can we bring food and/or beverages?
We would prefer that you not bring any food into the shop. We want to keep our samples in tip-top shape! If you wanted to upgrade your bridal appointment we do provide champagne and savory treats! You can call, text or email us to upgrade your appointment.
  • Can I buy a dress off the rack?
If THE dress fits, or is very close to fitting, we will usually sell a dress off the rack if we can't get your dream dress in time.
  • What is the price range of your gowns?
Camellia carries dresses that range from $1,200-4,500. We don't think you need to spend an arm and a leg to have wonderful service AND a gorgeous gown! We carry Justin Alexander, Lillian West, Sincerity, Madi Lane, Evie Young, MoriLee, DaVinci Bridal, Innocentia, and Camellia's Private Label. The average price of our gowns is $1,800-2,000. We also have a rack of sample dresses that range from $600 to $1300 for immediate take home!
  • Do you rent wedding dresses?
No, we do not. If you are a photographer, stylist, bridal expo coordinator or magazine please contact us at CamelliaSavannah@gmail.com as they may be available for shoots or fashion shows.
  • Can you ship my gown?
Yes, we have many destination brides in Savannah who want to buy their dresses here too, so we are happy to ship to you. Shipping usually runs around $40-60, including insurance, and we bill you after shipping so that we have the exact amount.
  • Do you have plus size samples?
We do sell plus size dresses- we love to accommodate as many beautiful body types as possible with our sample dresses. We have a nice selection of plus-size dresses for our curvy girls. Since our samples will not be an exact fit for most, we use clips to help you invision your perfect size. If you would like to speak to someone about what we have in your size, please send us an email or call.
  • What happens after I order my dress?
Standard production of wedding gowns can take six to eight months to come in. If you ordered a gown that is in stock, it will arrive into to three weeks! We will contact you as soon as it arrives! We recommend starting your alterations 2-3 months before your wedding.
  • How many people should I bring with me?
On Saturdays, we can only allow you to bring 5 people at the most with you, so that we can make everyone comfortable. Besides, we have found that the opinions of a trusted few always make for an easier decision for you! For weekday appointments, you may bring up to 7.
  • How do I clean my gown after my wedding?
Bring it to us! We pack and send it to the Wedding Gown Preservation Co. where they thoroughly clean and preserve your gown, and send it back to you! From the company: "We have several different processes that are used for cleaning. Each gown is evaluated upon its arrival and the best cleaning process for that particular gown is used. All of our processes are safe, gentle and environmentally safe. Your gown is then fitted on an acid-free bust form and packed in our acid-neutral preservation chest." The price is $347, and we handle all of the packing and shipping for you!
  • What is bridal sizing?
Bridal sizing is vintage sizing. Your bridal size will more than likely be two sizes larger then your current vanity size. If you wear a size 10 in regular clothing for example you will be a bridal size 14.
  • When should I order my wedding dress?
Your wedding gown can take up to six to eight months to produce. When you factor in shipping and alterations, it could be a nine month total process. We suggest deciding on a dress a year out from your wedding date, so you have time built in for fittings and accessorizing.
  • Should I bring heels?
No, we require you to take off your shoes when trying on dresses.
  • How should I prepare for my appointment?
Take some time to look through magazines and websites so you have a general idea of what you prefer in a wedding dress. This will help us get started in the selection process, although your stylist may also have some recommendations that you will love. It is helpful to bring undergarments of similar styles that you will wear on your wedding day, including nude or white underwear. You can wear a strapless bra or no bra- wedding gowns do not need them, so that is up to your comfort level. You MUST have on underwear (panties) to try on gowns.
  • When should I arrive for my appointment?
We ask that you arrive on time for your appointment- please don't come more than 15 minutes before your appointment time! We usually have appointments before and immediately following your appointment so if you arrive early or late, we may not have any one to help you.
